What is BPM?

BPM stands for Beats Per Minute and is the standard measurement of tempo in music. It tells you how many beats occur in one minute of a song. A higher BPM means a faster tempo, while a lower BPM means a slower one.

Knowing the BPM of a song is essential for DJs mixing tracks, musicians practicing with a metronome, producers setting project tempos, and fitness instructors selecting workout music.

How to Use the BPM Tap Tool

  1. Play the song you want to measure
  2. Click the TAP button or press spacebar in time with the beat
  3. Keep tapping for at least 4-8 beats for accuracy
  4. The BPM updates in real-time as you tap
  5. The tool auto-resets after 3 seconds of no tapping

For best results, tap along with the kick drum or snare. You can also enter a BPM manually to see its tempo marking and milliseconds per beat.
